What You Need to Play
A Horse - Stage Hill Provides You with a Trained Polo Pony
A Mallet - Stage Hill Provides You with a Choice of Mallet
A Ball - Stage Hill has polo balls that are large and soft for beginners
A Helmet - Safety is an important concern at Stage Hill You Must Wear a Helmet. We suggest you bring your own, as it will be more comfortable and fit better. Stage Hill will make sure you have a helmet to wear
Boots - If you have a pair of riding boots, or dress boots with a small heel (1 inch or less) we suggest you wear them to class
You will be required to sign a Waiver
At The Class
We typically start class with an overview of the sport of polo
A brief introduction to the rules and game strategy
You will be taught how to hold the mallet, How to make each of the 4 swing types
Then it is on to the Ponies!
Each person will have time on the pony to practice and play in a scrimmage.
There is a lot to learn, so we start slow, at a walk or trot so you can concentrate on building skills

Some Questions Answered
Q: I am an experienced rider. Do I need Beginner Lessons
A: Yes, you still need to learn the rules and how to swing the mallet
Q: I have played polo before. Do I need Beginner Lessons?
A: Yes. A refresher is always good. We like people to show up to Beginner Polo so Peter can judge your skill level. He may then decide to promote you to the Intermediate Level Club Play.
